Abstract

Early childhood enjoy more active play, prefer outdoor activities, and are curious. However, they are still immature in their body control functions and do not have sufficient ability to protect themselves, making them vulnerable to safety with substantial risk of accidents. A recent study on the safety management of early childhood proposed a system that uses beacons to identify children's locations and raise alarms so that one teacher can efficiently control and manage multiple children during outdoor activities. This study proposes an IoT device and system to supervise children safely using LE Audio technology. It can provide the children's location and raise the alarm when they leave the group. I can also broadcast the teacher's voice to multiple children to provide emotional stability and guide safe behavior. The performance evaluation results for the broadcast audio streaming of IoT devices using LE Audio technology showed that the audio file broadcast from the transmitter(source) was played back with clear sound quality and no latency at two receivers(sinks) within about 15meters. Additionally, the device performance was measured three times within 2 meters, showing that the transmission packets were successfully transmitted, with an average of 97.8% of packets having no latency. This study confirmed that the latest Bluetooth audio technology can be applied to develop IoT devices to manage children's groups efficiently.
